GEN events focus on peer-to-peer learning, pulling together outstanding participants and extraordinary resource people, often radical thinkers, eminent academics, avant-garde artists and leading practitioners. Our summer academies, regional academies and community exchanges are designed to provide changemakers with the support and tools they need to put their aspirations into practice.
Comprising primarily of GEN event alumni and resource people, the network is represented by outstanding academics, professionals, artists, and activists who together represent an extraordinary diversity of backgrounds and experiences.
Ideas borne from intense discussions at GEN events plant the seeds for future collaborations. Through both formal and informal projects and partnerships, GEN supports members’ innovative and collaborative work, creating mutually beneficial connections with global networks of colleagues and organisations aligned to GEN’s values and mission.
GEN members receive mentoring and support tailored to their specific needs and personal and professional goals and aspirations.
Academic and/or practical research and education tools and resources created by GEN members and partners: all open source. In 2020, GEN launched a new initiative to develop practical ‘how-to’ guides with tried-and-tested resources, and tools, targeted for those working for social and ecological justice and positive change.
